XP-PEN Artist 13.3Pro holiday edition-gift option in this holiday?

The XP-Pen artist 13.3 Pro a small drawing tablet is perfect for travelling. With a weight at just over 1kg it is the perfect companion for my trips. What comes in the box?

As you can see in the photos above the box comes very well packed with the display, a stand, the pen case, power adapter for various countries the manuals and the glove. Because this is also the Holiday Edition you have a fantastic poster from the amazing artist “bearbrickjea” and also a fun puzzle.

Design

The design of this drawing tablet is very nice and slick, you have on one side 8 fully customizable keys and a wheel, and on the other side you have a USB-C connector, a power button and also the brightness buttons. The USB cable has one USB-C that will connect to the display, and it has two USB-A and an HDMI connector. They are all together so if you will lose or damage the cable you need another one from XP-Pen. The two USB-A can be connected to the computer and have the computer power the display, or you can connect one to the computer and the other to the wall socket. The artist 13.3 is a full-laminated display tablet, which nearly comes with no parallax, which means the pen accuracy is outstanding.

Now I would like to talk about the stand for a minute, the stand is made of plastic and its light, but I do wish the stand had more positions. There is only one position, while that position for me is actually not bad; I wish I could decide if I wanted a different position.

These displays are just as good as their screens and Pen’s, so let’s talk about the pen. The pen has a great feeling, and it is the best pen I have ever tried. The pen has two buttons, the case is quite bulky, and it brings a set of 8 replacement nibs. You can use the cap of the pen as a pen stand. I wish the pen was like my surface pen with a magnet to carry around with the display.

Software

The software is straightforward and intuitive to use; you can control all the shortcuts in there and also change the two function buttons on the pen. I left this as default for now, but slowly I will tweak it to my liking.

How do I use it

This kind of display is used a lot for drawing, and it has great capabilities. I have tried drawing on it but was too ashamed to show the results 🙂 I can’t draw.

I will be using this tablet together with my laptop, while I did this review on my desktop because it was easier for me at the moment, I will be using this mainly on my 13-inch laptop, the size and weight of this tablet is great.

On the following video, I’m just doing a quick mask to join two photos taken with two different exposures using the drawing tablet.

Holiday Edition

I got the holiday edition which brings a few nice extras, like the puzzle and the poster, what I like the most if the sticker set, you can add stickers to the buttons on the tablet. I don’t know how long this edition will be out, but I think it is well worth it.

Conclusion

The Artist 13.3 pro is a great solution for everyone who wants to edit on the go. There is no perfect device out there; however, this display has little I don’t like. There is room for improvement, I would consider a smaller bezel around the screen to give even more portability, also the pen could have a magnet to “stick” to the side of the display. The last item I think could use some improvement is the stand, having a more flexible stand will be better for most. I currently own an Innovator 16 also and I guess I will have the tough decision on which tablet to take, I guess it will all depend on how much gear I will take with me.

I can’t finish this review without talking about the price, for about 280€ (During this holidays) you can have a full-on external screen that allows you to edit if you use the tablets without screen and you are considering an upgrade you should give this tablet a try if you are not looking for an upgrade you should also give this tablet a try, you won’t regret it.
